Diagnostic Imaging refers to testing procedures that doctors use to look inside your body to determine the best possible care. A variety of machines and techniques create pictures of the structures and activities inside the human body and are used to diagnose disease. A diagnostic test, (MRI, CT, Ultrasound and/or X-ray), will be used to look inside the body and your doctor will determine the most appropriate test depending on the symptoms that you are experiencing. These tests may use x-rays, sound waves, and radio waves and are recorded by detectors. This information is then digitized into an electronic picture for viewing.
