#2: Risk Factor: Radiation Exposure
Radiation exposure is a strong risk factor for thyroid cancer. People should limit their exposure.
#3: (Lack of ) Signs and Symptoms
Thyroid cancer is usually asymptomatic and not generally detectable on blood tests. Routine neck exams should be done.
#4: Increased Risks
There is an increased risk of thyroid cancer in first degree relatives (and especially siblings) of individuals who have had thyroid cancer. However, the risk is still fairly low.
