The Oregon Clinic, Oregon’s largest private specialty physician practice, continues to grow its surgical portfolio and welcomes the physicians and staff of The Portland Surgeons to its expanding surgical practice. The group brings four board certified general surgeons to the team—Jordana Gaumond, M.D. FACS, Scott Soot, M.D. FACS, Kelvin Yu, M.D. FACS, Karen Zink, M.D. FACS.
Now known as The Oregon Clinic – Portland Surgeons, their surgical practice covers the full range of general surgery, including Thyroid and Parathyroid Disease, Benign Breast Disease, Breast Cancer, Gallbladder Disease, Spleen Removal, Stomach Tumors, Small Bowel Disease, Colon Cancer, Diverticulitis, Appendicitis, Open and Laparoscopic Hernia Repairs, Soft Tissue Masses, Melanoma, and Sarcoma. They will continue to practice at their East Portland office located on the Providence Portland Medical campus.

Dr. Gaumond completed her Medical Degree and General Surgery residency at Oregon Health & Science University. She then completed a fellowship in Transplantation Surgery at The Ohio State University. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and certified by the American Society of Transplant Surgeons. Her practice interests include all areas of General Surgery, open and laparoscopic, for cancer and non-cancer disease processes. When she is not practicing surgery, she enjoys outdoor and family activities.
Dr. Soot completed his medical school and residency at Oregon Health & Sciences University in Portland, and went on to start practice in Portland in 2000. He is Board Certified in General Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Soot is the Chair of the Department of Surgery at Providence Portland Medical Center. As Chair of Surgery, Dr. Soot monitors quality and performance of the members of the Department of Surgery. When he is not practicing surgery, he enjoys boating, fishing and alpine skiing.
Dr. Yu has been in surgical practice in Portland, Oregon since 1997. He graduated from the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine where he also started and completed residency training in General Surgery. He also completed a fellowship in Surgical Oncology at the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. As an Endocrine Surgeon, he has a strong interest and expertise in the management and treatment of Thyroid and Parathyroid disorders. When he is not working he enjoys cycling, traveling, cooking and snowboarding.
Dr. Zink completed her General Surgery Residency training at Oregon Health & Sciences University in 2010. She is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She is a general surgeon who is interested in the broad range of general surgery, with a focus on minimally invasive surgery. She is particularly interested in working with athletes and others who participate in strong physical activity, on helping them return to a high level of function as quickly as possible after hernia repairs and other surgeries. When not working, she enjoys juggling, unicycling, and playing with her family.
