PORTLAND, Ore., Sept. 10, 2013 — The Oregon Clinic is pleased to welcome Brent Lee, M.D. to its gastroenterology group. Dr. Lee is board-certified in internal medicine and completed a gastroenterology fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University earlier this year. In his role at The Oregon Clinic he will focus on treating patients with digestive disorders such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), celiac disease, and inflammatory bowel disease.
“I am very excited to join The Oregon Clinic given their reputation in providing excellent patient care in the community. I look forward to collaborating with primary care physicians and other specialists to provide the best possible care to our patients,” said Dr. Lee. “My aim is to “make man whole” by focusing on all aspects of my patients’ health including their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. This is the mission I was taught in medical school and the same principles I use to practice medicine today. By combining compassionate care with evidence-based medicine practices, I hope to improve the lives of those in need.”
Dr. Lee received his Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry in 2002, graduating summa cum laude from University of Washington in Seattle. He earned a doctor of medicine degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 2006. While at Loma Linda University, Dr. Lee became a member of Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society, and in 2006 received the Varner J. Johns, Jr. Department of Medicine Award.
Dr. Lee moved to Portland in 2006 to complete his residency in internal medicine at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). He became board certified in internal medicine in 2009, and from 2010-2013, Dr. Lee completed a gastroenterology fellowship at OHSU.
Dr. Lee has conducted extensive research into gastrointestinal diseases and has been published in various medical and scientific journals including the Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, JAMA Internal Medicine, Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology, and Digestive Diseases and Science. He is an active member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, and the American Society of Gastroenterological Endoscopy.

Dr. Lee grew up in Vancouver, Washington and has been living in Portland for the past seven years. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, football, basketball, hiking, and spending time with his wife and daughter.
