PORTLAND, Ore., Oct. 17, 2013 — The Oregon Clinic is pleased to welcome Swapna B. Reddy, MD to its gastroenterology group. Dr. Reddy is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and previously served as Chief Resident at the University of California, Irvine. She has an interest in working with patients with pelvic floor dysfunction and inflammatory bowel disease. Dr. Reddy speaks fluent Spanish and will practice at the Tualatin and Newberg offices of The Oregon Clinic Gastroenterology – South.

Dr. Reddy received her Bachelor of Science in biology from University of California San Diego (UCSD) in 2002, and then moved to Ohio to attend the Medical University of Ohio at Toledo (MUOT). Since 2006 she has been at University of California, Irvine (UCI) and has received several awards and commendations. In 2006-2007 she received The David K. Litke, MD Memorial Intern of the Year Award, and in 2007-2008 was recognized as the Department of Internal Medicine’s Resident of the Year. Dr. Reddy then served as Chief Resident from 2009-2010. She joined the Department of Gastroenterology at UCI in 2010 and in 2013 she received the Gastroenterology Fellow’s Research Award.
Dr. Reddy has presented research at meetings and conferences including The American College of Gastroenterology Annual Scientific Meeting and Digestive Disease Week. She is an active member of the American Gastroenterology Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin.

Dr. Reddy is happy about moving to the Pacific Northwest since she is an avid hiker. She also looks forward to spending time exploring the cultural and arts scene in the Portland area alongside her husband.
