The Oregon Clinic’s Westside ENT division welcomes Brian Shaffer, MD. Dr. Shaffer’s special interests include allergy testing, immunotherapy, rhinology, endoscopic sinus surgery, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, skin cancer and Mohs surgery reconstruction as well as voice disorders.
Dr. Shaffer received his medical degree with honors from Weill-Cornell Medical College, New York, NY in 2005. He completed his general surgery internship and otorhinolaryngology residency at the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
Originally from Alexandria, Virginia, Dr. Shaffer graduated from Harvard University, where he majored in Chemistry and Physics. He is the author of numerous research articles and frequently presents research findings at medical conferences and assemblies. Dr. Shaffer is also the recipient of the Leadership Grant from the American Academy of Otolaryngology and the Francis W. Davison award from the Pennsylvania Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
Dr. Shaffer now lives in Portland with his wife, Christina, who is an architect. During his spare time, Dr. Shaffer enjoys electric guitar and tennis.
