Dr. Anil Sharma believes strongly in the importance of seeing the patient as a person, not as a diagnosis or series of symptoms. To this end, he takes a collaborative approach to care with his patients and partners with them to address their health needs.
Dr. Sharma’s fellowship included dedicated training in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Before coming to The Oregon Clinic, he focused on training the next generation of gastroenterologists, serving as core faculty for the GI fellowship program at OHSU and the Portland VA Medical Center. Dr. Sharma also led educational efforts at the local, regional, and national levels.
Outside of the office, Dr. Sharma can often be found enjoying Portland’s culinary scene. He loves the innovative chefs and their emphasis on fresh, local produce and farm to table ethos. Dr. Sharma also enjoys traveling and learning about other cultures, cooking, and hiking. On the sports scene, he supports the Portland Trail Blazers, and is an avid English Premier League football (soccer) fan.
