Monica Daugherty was drawn to Gastroenterology because it gives her the ability to diagnose and treat a broad range of complex diseases that can be quite burdensome to a patient. Knowing she has helped a patient overcome physical and emotional pain related to their GI issues provides Monica with a sense of satisfaction and peace.
Monica has worked in the medical field for more than 20 years in a variety of acute and non-acute settings. This experience has enabled her to handle things calmly and effectively. Working in medicine allows her to help others as well their families, while providing the challenge of learning about and conquering new things.
Portland is Monica’s birthplace, and she loves being able to practice in her home community near family and friends. She appreciates the many opportunities available to be outdoors enjoying all four seasons in the city and surrounding areas. Outside of work, Monica dedicates her time to family and friends, entertaining, decoration, baking, and watching sports.
